I always tell people that when you try out a new or different pattern.. carve a couple of dozen.. and get all the bugs worked out... and then do about 10 or 12 at a time. It makes them very easy to carve.. one tool.. 12 of the same cuts.. and on to the next step..Try it..and then do the same for the painting step..
